Background
Details
The antibody is directed against the Puumala serotype nucleocapsid protein which has been shown to be the major immunogen in infections (HFRS, Nephropathia epidemica) caused by Puumala Virus.
A1C5 reacts with an epitope present on the N-terminus (aa 15 - 35) of the nucleocapsid protein (S segment) of hantavirus CG 18-20 strain (Puumala serotype) and also cross-reacts with SNV (Sin Nombre virus) rN protein (Schmidt et al. 2005).
No coss-reaction with Hantaan-related serogroups, like Dobrava, Seoul.
