Background
Details
Oxytocin is synthesized in nerve cell bodies in the supraoptic nucleus and paraventricular nucleus, and carried by axonal transport to the neural stalk and pars nervosa where they are stored. Oxytocin nerve terminals can also be found throughout the CNS, even reaching the lower spinal cord.
Absorption with 10 – 100 μg immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining.
Positive control: Frozen sections of pig pituitary.
