The antibody recognizes presynaptic vesicles of neurons of brain, spinal cord, retina neuromuscular junctions, small vesicles of adrenal medulla and pancreatic islets. The antibody can be used for the characterisation of neuroendocrine tumors. Immunoblotting: the antibody predominantly reacts with a 38 kD transmembrane glycoprotein from synaptic vesicles.

Positive control: adrenal peochromcytoma, pancreatic islet cell neoplasm.
