Background
Details
Can be used to discriminate between malignant cutaneous melanoma and nevocellular nevi. PAL-M1 recognizes the transferrin receptor (TFR, CD71), a marker for tumor progression in the melanocytic lineage and stains the majority of primary melanomas and their metastases. Local staining of dysplastic nevocellular nevi may be observed. Common nevocellular nevi rarely stain. Excellent marker for neoplastic progression of melanocytic proliferation.
Reactivity on cultured cell lines: Melanoma cell lines Mel 57, CM 136, M14, BLM; HepG2, PLC, Daudi, Raji, PBL
Positive control: Human Melanoma.
