anti-Nucleolar Protein xNopp180 mouse monoclonal, No-114, supernatant

NO-114 stains specifically the nucleolus and Cajal bodies in interphase cells. Specific marker for the dense fibrillar component of the interphase nucleolus. In WB a 180 kD protein is detected in Xenopus (rat homologue: 140 kD).

Background

Details

The antibody stains specifically the nucleolus and Cajal bodies in interphase cells. The antigen is a constitutively expressed nucleolar component and a specific marker for the dense fibrillar component of the interphase nucleolus. The protein recognized is a 180 kD polypeptide in Xenopus (xNopp180), homologue to the rat polypeptide (Nopp140). When applied at high concentration to human cells the antibody reacts with a nucleolar component which, however, does not correspond to xNopp180.
